Nathan Swinney began his diverse construction career as a laborer in the industrial sector, transitioning later into commercial electrical contracting, general contracting, cost estimating and construction management.
He joined the firm in 2002. Having served as the firm’s former Chief Estimator, he prepared cost estimates for 323 projects totaling $4.4 billion estimated construction cost. Swinney has also served in the capacity of Project Manager and in other construction management related roles reporting directly to the responsible in charge on 23 projects. As Vice President for the South Texas Region he reports directly to the President and is responsible to manage staffing and operations for project management, quality assurance and related services throughout the region. Swinney collaborates with other regional VP’s, the VP of preconstruction services and business development staff to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and consistency across all regions and departments. He serves as an officer on the company’s board of directors. In addition to managing the region, he continues to serve clients and projects directly as project executive.
Swinney is adept at organization, is detail-oriented and quality focused. Swinney holds a BBA in Business Management/Minor in Economics from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and an AAS in Architectural Technology from Del Mar College. Swinney is a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE# 1.4-000656-0909) and a Certified Construction Manager (CCM# 4515). He is also certified in Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) through the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
