George De La Cerda

George has 28 years of experience in design and construction, having held positions as Assistant Construction Manager, Estimator, Quality Assurance Inspector, Project Manager, Home Designer and CAD Draftsman. As a member of AG|CM’s estimating department, he developed comprehensive pricing assemblies, accurate cost estimates and thorough plan and constructability reviews. George is detail oriented and skillful in interpreting plans and specifications, as well as inspecting the work for conformance to these documents. Before joining AG|CM, George worked as a custom home designer for 15 years and an estimator and project manager for a roofing contractor. George is a Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) through CMAA and earned Associate Degrees in Architectural and Drafting Technology from Del Mar College.
Mr. De La Cerda is responsible to perform quality assurance services on commercial building construction, including work classified under but not limited to the following Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) divisions: existing conditions, concrete, masonry, metals, wood, plastics and composites, thermal and moisture protection, openings, finishes, specialties, equipment, furnishings, special construction, conveying equipment, fire suppression, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, communications, electronic safety and security, earthwork, exterior improvements and site utilities. His primary objectives are 1) defect prevention, 2) defect detection by a) visual inspection and b) special inspection and testing results reported by quality control professionals and technicians and 3) to assure construction conforms to the construction documents. Additionally, he is often tasked with select Construction Management duties such as validating Contractor Pay Applications, coordinating Requests for Information between Contractors and the Engineers of Record, evaluating Change Orders and serving as liaison to residents and business owners affected by construction on behalf of public entities.
