Project Description: Construction of “state-of-the-art” 88,500 sf classrooms and laboratories building
Services: Program Management, Construction Management
AG|CM provided Program Management and Construction Management services for Del Mar College for 29 different projects totaling over $22.9 Million. Initially, AG|CM was retained to provide these services for a major capital projects program at both of the College’s campuses that were already undergoing construction under a lack of oversight and management. The group of five projects involved new construction, replacement and expansion totaling $14 Million and were in various stages of construction and/or design. AG|CM accessed each project, identifying required corrective measures and developing a plan-of-action and milestones for resolution to best meet the College’s requirements.
Subsequently, AG|CM was assigned an additional 24 projects, totaling $8.9 Million, assisting with planning, budgeting, design, construction and commissioning.
AG|CM was called upon to assume Construction Management of the construction of the Solomon Coles Classroom Building, a 88,500-square-foot, “state-of-the-art” classroom building mid-stream and saw it through completion. The building included computer laboratories, distance learning lecture halls and general classrooms.
As Program and Construction Manager for the building, AG|CM identified several problem areas in the plans that were corrected as well as oversaw owner-requested changes during construction. The project has been widely praised for its forward-thinking design, functionality and pleasing presentation.
